William
Bruce, LCPC
Assistant Clinical Director
Bill received his Masters in Education, Educational Psychology, at the
University of Utah. He has been counseling with adolescents and their families
for nearly twenty years in a variety of inpatient and outpatient facilities
including chemical dependency treatment. BCA is very fortunate to have Bill on
our clinical team.
“I am most committed to, and get great satisfaction from, seeing young people
tap into the power and capability that lies within. In my understanding, all
humans are born with the capacity to love and to do good work. I really enjoy
identifying barriers to these capacities and helping students and their families
overcome the barriers.
I find it very rewarding working with adolescents who are either paralyzed or
tossed about by strong, overwhelming emotional states. I feel the approaches
used in Dialectical Behavioral Therapy help teach skills and support students in
moving around and beyond these emotionally debilitating states.
I like practicing my profession at BCA because I can be around students in a
great variety of settings and interact with a large number of students and staff
who also experience that student. This makes for a data-rich environment that
allows greater understanding and potential points of focus to use in therapy.”
