Student Dress Code

To eliminate the distraction that clothing and fashion typically present to an adolescent, we have dress guidelines in place. Your child will be attired in the same seasonally functional clothing as other students.

Clothing Guidelines

1.Clothing must fit appropriately; no extremes of tight or loose fit,

2. Clothing must be in good condition; no frayed edges, or holes

 

      PANTS / SHORTS / SKIRTS /  BRIEFS:

     -Young Men (No excessively baggy, saggy or very tight jeans or dress pants)

  • 10-12 pair of boxers, boxer briefs or regular briefs.
  • 6 to 8 pairs of jeans
  • 2 pair of dress pants (Khaki or corduroy pants for dress wear)
  • 2 pair of sweatpants (Cotton or fleece okay, for P.E.)
  • 2 pair of athletic shorts (for P.E.), 1-2 Pair of walking shorts, AND 1 Pair of swim trunks

     -Young Women (Pants must be mid-rise or higher, no extremes of tight or loose fit)

  • 10-12 pair of women’s underwear or briefs (at least 1” side strap, no thong style)
  • 6 to 8 pairs of jeans
  • 2 pair of dress pants (Khaki or corduroy pants for dress wear)
  • 2 pair of sweatpants (Cotton or fleece okay,for P.E.)
  • 2 pair of athletic shorts (for P.E.), AND 1-2 Pair of walking shorts
  • One piece bathing suit (modest and conservative in style)
  • 1-2 skirts (length at knee or longer)

 SHIRTS/ BRAS /TIES / BELTS

     -Young Men (Appropriate in size, LOGOS OKAY (no logos promoting violence, sex, or drugs)

  • 21(Maximum) shirts (this can be a combination of t-shirts, undershirts (tank or short sleeve), sweatshirts, sweaters, fleece shirts/ pullovers, turtlenecks,  and dress shirts)
  • 1 Men’s tie (for dress wear)
  • 1 black belt or reversible black/brown belt

     -Young Women (Appropriate in size, LOGOS OKAY (no logos promoting violence, sex, or drugs)

  • 21(Maximum) shirts (this can be a combination of t-shirts, undershirts (tank or short sleeve), sweatshirts, fleece shirts / pullovers, sweaters, turtlenecks, and dress shirts)
  • 4 regular bras / 3 sport bras
  • 1-2 belts

     SOCKS / GLOVES / HATS / BACKPACK

     -Young Men  or Young Women

  • 10 pair of athletic socks (any style)
  • 2 pair dress socks
  • 3 pair wool socks
  • 2 pair poly pro liner socks (worn under wool socks)
  • 1 pair ski gloves / 1 pair fleece gloves / mittens
  • 2 winter hats/ or balaclava (Fleece or wool)
  • 1baseball cap (optional)
  • Backpack for school

     PAJAMAS / AND POLY PRO

     -Young Men or Young Women

  • 2 Pairs of Pajama bottoms (or pajama top/bottom sets)
  • 1 bath robe
  • 1 set poly pro liner top & bottom (worn under jeans or ski pants for extra layers)

   

 OUTERWEAR / SHOES/ BOOTS

     -Young Men

  • 1 set (Jacket and bottoms) rain gear (Helly Hansen brand or other comparable brand)
  • 1 Winter Ski Jacket (no down fill)  and 1 pair ski pants
  • 1 Pair Winter Boots (Sorel or other comparable brand)
  • 1 Pair Hiking Boots (can use the same pair from Wilderness program, all upper leather)
  • 4 pair shoes: 1 Pr. Athletic (for P.E.), 1 Pr. Dress ( brown or black),1 Pr. Street Shoes (Board, sketchers, etc), 1 Pair Shower Shoes / or flip flops (1 pair sandals in summer time, optional)
  • 1 Sleeping bag (required, must be 0 degree, Poly Fill, Polarguard Delta or equivelant, no down)

     -Young Women

  • 1 set (Jacket and bottoms) rain gear
  • 1 Winter Ski Jacket
  • 1 Pair Winter Boots
  • 1 Pair Hiking Boots (can use the same pair from Wilderness program)
  • 4 Pair Shoes (1 Pr. Athletic(for P.E.), 1 Pr. Dress ( 2 ½” heel or less), 1 Pr. Street (Board, sketchers, etc)1 Pair Shower Shoes / or flip flops (1 pair sandals in summer time, optional)
  • 1 Sleeping bag (required, must be 0 degree, Poly Fill, Polarguard Delta or equivelant, no down)

                       

     Optional Items students can bring upon enrollment:

  • Alarm Clock/ no radio
  • Musical Instrument (i.e.: guitar, small amplifier, violin, etc)
  • Jewelry (inexpensive watch, earrings (studs or hoop up to ½”), necklaces (pendants 1” or less), bracelets, rings, ankle bracelet, toe rings, and Wilderness tools (i.e.; medicine bags)
  • Photos / Frames (Photos of family, or family animals to start with)
  • Hygeine/ Beauty Products (Non colored lip gloss, carmex, clear fingernail polish, scented lotion, choice of shampoo, conditioner, deodorant (new, unopened).
  • Blow Dryer

    Items not allowed upon enrollment: (Some of the following items may be allowed in certain phases of 

     The student’s program at Boulder Creek Academy)

  • No hair dye, or perms, No curling, flat ,or brush hair styling irons
  • No hair gel, hairspray, mousse, or other hair styling products.
  • No makeup, no colored nail polish
