Campus Life

Life on the Boulder Creek Academy campus is designed to help students learn from what they experience. In addition to academic classes and individualized personal growth programming, students are involved in a variety of learning experiences. Physical fitness is an essential ingredient of student life. Depending on the season, you'll find students playing baseball or basketball, cross-country skiing, hiking, or mountain biking.

Frequent opportunities exist for students to participate in outdoor adventure activities such as backpacking, rock climbing, and kayaking. Students work to earn privileges to participate in exciting field trips that combine academics with life-experiences and present an excellent opportunity for growth. Recent student trips have gone to Alaska, Washington's Olympic Peninsula, and Belize. (For more information, read about our Outdoor/Adventure Learning curriculum.)

At BCA, we also have a strong commitment to community service, both on campus and in the community. Students celebrate the feeling of giving, and it helps create a nurturing, caring environment.

Peer Support
Big Brother/Big Sister Support Network Peer support is an important part of the Boulder Creek Academy program. Upon enrollment, each child will be assigned a Big Brother or Big Sister who will meet them at the door. This individual is a student who is familiar with the program, has been enrolled at the school for a longer time, and understands the emotions each child may be experiencing. This student is available to support each child and answer questions on a peer level. In addition, the Big Brother or Big Sister will be a source of support during each child's adjustment period.

Practice of Religious Beliefs
Boulder Creek Academy recognizes each student's right to practice a religion of their choosing. We also recognize the importance of a spiritual connection in daily life. While we support each student's religious choice, we are not affiliated with any religion, denomination or sect.
