Parents
At Boulder Creek Academy, parents and families are an integral part of the school. The key is communication -- so a therapist acts as "case manager" for each student and takes responsibility for communicating with family members. In addition, our parent education programs and parent support groups help families resolve issues with their teens.
The result is a true partnership. Please take a moment to

Your Child's "Team Therapist"
The clinician manages the flow of overall progress of your student. The clinician works in tandem with the Team or Phase Leader as well as other staff members (counselors, teachers, medical staff, etc.) to oversee the program for your child. The essential functions of the clinician include:
- Update parents on your child's current behaviors and emotional status.
- Completes an intake assessment and oversees the development of the Individual Treatment Plan.
- Clinically oversees the care of your student and provides individual therapy when indicated.
- In concert with other staff, educate parents on the Boulder Creek Academy philosophy as it relates to the individualized individualized personal growth program, academic curriculum, the work ethic, wilderness experiences and recreational opportunities.
- Coach parents on how to maximize the benefit of their involvement while your child progresses through his/her own levels of individualized individualized personal growth.
- Serve as a resource for the parents to communicate identified needs and related information to your child's counselor, as well as directly to your child.
- Serve as a resource for the child to communicate identified needs or services (tutoring, individual therapy, ASCENT transfer, etc.) to parents.
- Communicate with external specialists, such as medical, mental health and legal professionals, for the purpose of gathering or sharing pertinent information regarding your child.
